Neck ready to go...

Got the wood for the neck ready to go. Here's a shot of the nicely flamed maple neck. Looks real nice with a little water to raise the grain (excuse all the crap in the photo!).

A shot of the Australian Bouree fingerboard. It's very dense and is supposed to sound similar to ebony. Should look great after a sand with some fine grit paper. Sorry, my photo is a shocker.

I made up the template for the neck on the weekend and it's looking good. The headstock will be the classic Fender style, but I'm considering more and more about changing that completely. Better make my mind up quickly :). Looking to plane the fretboard flat and slot the frets tomorrow, maybe route the truss rod channel on the neck too.

Here's a shot of the body blank after routing the neck pocket.

The body after rough cutting with the bandsaw. Pickup cavities have also been routed (burnt grr!)

After some shaping and sanding. Looking a little better now :).

Test fitting the pickups... Success!!!

Controls cavity routed with pots and knobs mounted. Lookin' good!

All the electronics installed for a test fit. Can't wait to fire it up!

That's all for now... I'll try and get started on the neck this weekend.
